Why We Started MURFF

MURFF was born out of a deeply personal mission: to provide strong, inspiring role models for the next generation, starting with our own son. As parents, we’ve always wanted to give our MURFF the best chance to grow into a resilient, well-rounded, and compassionate young bloke. But as we looked around, we realised that we are actually fortunate with all the role models that our MURFF has in his life. Whether it be from his dad - James, poppa Cliff, pa Murray, uncles, cousins, family friends and community members, these blokes have provide him with such good role models, teaching him a range of life lessons. We also realised that not every young bloke is fortunate enough to have people like these in their lives. That’s when the idea for MURFF began to take shape.

The Triangle of Inspiration

At the heart of MURFF is a simple but powerful symbol: the triangle. With its three sides, the triangle represents stability, balance, and strength—qualities we believe every young person needs to thrive. It also reflects the three pillars that guide our vision:

  1. Strong Values: We identified 12 core values that we believe define the best role models and serve as the foundation of MURFF: Stability, Balance, Ambition, Growth, Power, Strength, Creativity, Resilience, Unity, Harmony, Transformation, and Risk-taking.

  2. Community: MURFF is about more than clothing; it’s about creating a community that uplifts and inspires. Through our brand, we want to connect young people with everyday role models who embody these values.

  3. Family: Our son is at the heart of this journey. His and his mates need for strong influences sparked this idea, and everything we do is designed with him and others like him in mind. He’s not just the reason we started MURFF—he’s our daily reminder of why it matters.

Celebrating Everyday Role Models

One of the key drivers behind MURFF is the belief that role models don’t have to be celebrities or public figures. Often, the most impactful mentors are everyday people who show up, lead by example, and offer guidance and support. Whether it’s a parent, a coach, a teacher, or a family friend, these are the individuals who shape the next generation in meaningful ways.

Through MURFF, we want to shine a light on these unsung heroes. They’re the reason our brand exists and the inspiration behind every design, story, and connection we create.
